Reimagine Your Life
As you deepen your understanding of the benefits of self-compassion, you begin to acknowledge how powerful you are. You begin to approach your day-to-day challenges through a lens of compassion. Through this new lens, you step into your day as your powerful self, ready to create a life that is supported by self-awareness, self-understanding, and self-compassion.
When we learn to fully care for ourselves, we become less reliant on others to meet our expectations. This shift helps us reduce the suffering that comes from disappointment and the letdowns that arise when we impose unrealistic standards on our loved ones. We come to understand that we are our own best friends, equipped with the knowledge, power, and skills needed to cultivate self-compassion. This inner strength frees us from seeking validation or support from others in order to feel accomplished. We find tools that support us in this growth, allowing us to expand our hearts.
kindness
As caregivers, we have been conditioned to practice kindness to everyone in our lives, and then respond to our personal needs with what is left over. Kindness must begin with a strengthening of self. This will result in building a capacity to be available for those we love.
self-care
Caring for self encompasses a variety of practices and activities that prioritize physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Self-care is about recognizing one’s needs. Self-compassion empowers us to holistically nurture ourselves to feel more balanced, energized ,and fulfilled across all aspects of life .
mindfulness
When we encounter pain or suffering, our natural instinct is often to avoid those uncomfortable feelings at all costs. This avoidance can lead to increased suffering.
Mindfulness offers a different approach; it encourages us to stay present with our feelings in the moment of discomfort. Learning how to stay present opens you up to healing opportunities.
Common Humanity
It is important to recognize that we are never alone in our pain and suffering. Compassion literally means "to suffer with" and helps us to remember that pain and suffering happen to every human being. We are never alone despite the fact that we feel very alone during these dark times. You are not alone. I am here for you.
“Dawn is the most incredible listener. She can hear a small bit of information and connect it to a conversation weeks later, it always amazes me. Her coaching style enables me to check in each week about what is going on before we begin and I truly appreciate this. I also appreciate her teaching background as I believe this has helped her delivery of the information with chances to practice and come back to session and discuss. This has been very helpful.”
